I had been awake around 4 letting the dogs out then after lying back in bed I felt like I was trying to Astral Project. Like I actually wanted to, but couldn't leave my body and it seemed my whole body was vibrating and tingling. I felt good all over. But I just couldn't lift myself up. I definitely felt awake, I would open my eyes, move, roll over close my eyes, try again, and again. Same thing kept happening. Then I guess I finally fell asleep. Was that all a dream, lucid dream or was I actually trying to Astral Project? I'm confused.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1141886981250185175.post-40793105910587102142023-10-22T17:09:03.763-05:002023-10-22T17:09:03.763-05:00I haven't had OBE yet but pushing for it. How did I know despite never having had either of these? I studied OBE and memorized everything to the letter between Peterson, Monroe, and Buhlman. When the "OBE" happened I immediately ran away from my physical body (per protocol) because I didn't want to snap back in and focused mentally on letting it be and not have any goals per the instructions. Yes I am intellectually prepped for everything 100%, memorized what to do when, I was so happy and about to go bonkers and kept my excitement somewhat controlled. Upon review, it reminded me of the many dreams I had and some things didn't make sense. Also, it wasn't a second reality feel like this reality. I'm kinda bummed because I seem to be there 99.9% and doing everything by the book. I do believe it but haven't gotten my first willful OBE experience yet to prove it to myself. But a lucid dream for OBE experience is my personal best result as of now. I hope to report when I do get OBE but its been frustrating having gone through most of the steps and I feel like I should be there by now. I'm re-reading the books carefully to see if I missed anything. I have experienced what I believe is called Samadhi - Over the years, I’ve written about it, in many different ways, trying to encapsulate the feeling. For me, it was like dissolving into the harmony of the spheres. The best I’ve come up with for myself, is this: “Dissolving into the harmony - I became the. harmony dissolving into an exalted state of being, holding just that one note. That one sound that contained the all in all: I became the note - dissolving into the state of simply being. I have had many OBE’s - The first one spontaneous, which took me through the tunnel to my waiting soulmates Bathed in the Light of God and and all-encompassing Celestial/Angelic music. So, it was no ordinary OBE. I was absolutely blessed with this experience. From out of nowhere. Life is indeed magical and mystical.Cybersisterhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02533694460308460202noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1141886981250185175.post-51593345140988853262015-12-11T02:52:08.305-06:002015-12-11T02:52:08.305-06:00I made both. I had always the feeling to just "open my eyes" after an OBE, and waking up ofter a lucid dream. No one chart above give that information, and same remark for the remembering. For me it means that the altered state is different, even if our brain produces quite the same world.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12724381986539790075noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1141886981250185175.post-22672363114947676982015-03-13T03:08:35.538-05:002015-03-13T03:08:35.538-05:00There seems to be enough consensus to indicate OBE...There seems to be enough consensus to indicate OBE's are a different subjective experience from both samadhi and lucid dreaming. I've never given up on an OBE... but don't feel that it's very important anymore. However, recently in meditation I discovered a state different from samadhi... it is a very surreal feeling, weird is the only way to describe it... a feeling that the body isn't there, just pure consciousness. I understand samadhi as the absence of a cognitive reference point of the self. Well, this other state seems to be the absence of a cognitive reference point of the body. This state typically is accompanied by 'shakes' or 'jolts' of the body, followed by the body becoming completely relaxed or falling asleep while remaining conscious. However, following my recent meditations, I found that I'm carrying this surreal feeling with me into waking consciousness. So, I feel almost as if I'm sleep walking after meditation and really loosey goosey in the body--as if I had done a lot of yoga. I do get a surreal sense that the lines between dreaming and waking conscious is blurred--not delusional mind you--but like the body is kinda diffused in the background like water. I would say it's definitely spiritually significant as I find it offers a new dimension to samadhi--a surreal element as well as a greater sense of unity that all is one. Does anybody find this experience to coincide with their experience of 'out-of-body' type phenomena?

At the very least, even if this is not necessarily out-of-body related, this did open my eyes that samadhi is not an absolute but there are greater or deeper levels of unity or samadhi to be experienced. Which is definitely the feeling one gets after going down the rabbit-hole of spirituality--that it is a bottomless pit. A dream will usually vanish rapidly unless there is a quick conscious effort to commit to memory. An OBE won't vanish like that. At least not in my experience.Ewolfe357https://www.blogger.com/profile/13231158280869354250noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1141886981250185175.post-52411963242406696072015-03-03T09:19:12.564-06:002015-03-03T09:19:12.564-06:00Interesting summary of various viewpoints!
